How To Care for Caesarstone Porcelain Worktops:
Simple Cleaning - Wipe down regularly with warm soapy water to maintain the surface to its full potential
Removing Stains - When removing stains, give the surface a gentle rub with a mild cleaner and rinse off
Avoiding Scratches - It is always advised to use a cutting board and clear away sharp object to ensure the longevity of the surface
Chemicals - Prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals may harm the surface, so mild detergents are recommended
Note that the Honed and Ultra Rough finishes are more prone to metal marks, fingerprints, and other signs of daily use, so it is important to take extra care when cleaning and maintaining these surfaces.
How is Porcelain Manufactured?
Porcelain is manufactured using a specialised process that begins with natural raw materials like kaolin, feldspar, and clay, which are finely ground and mixed with water to form a smooth, malleable paste. This mixture is then shaped into large, thin slabs through a process called pressing, which compacts the material for density and strength. The slabs are then dried to remove excess moisture and fired in kilns at extremely high temperatures. This intense heat bonds the material, making it incredibly hard, non-porous, and resistant to scratches, stains, and heat.
After firing, the porcelain slabs are polished or given a matte or textured finish, ready to be cut and fabricated into bespoke worktops. This process results in a durable, low-maintenance surface that is both elegant and functional. See below for a glimpse at one of our fabrication processes.
