Upgrade Your Kitchen with Replacement Worktops

Why Upgrade Your Worktops?

Is your kitchen looking tired? Have you been considering a renovation but are put off by the expensive price tag? Sometimes a worktop refresh is all you need! Upgrading your kitchen worktops is one of the simplest ways to transform the appearance of your space, at a much cheaper price. With the strains of everyday life, your worktops can become worn, stained, or outdated, and by replacing them with modern materials such as quartz or porcelain can enhance both the aesthetic and functionality of your kitchen.

Upgrading your worktops can also add just as much value to your property as an entire kitchen renovation, making it an incredibly smart investment if you're looking for a simple refresh. No matter your reason, replacing your kitchen worktops is a practical and impactful choice.

How Much Do Worktop Replacements Cost?

"I want to upgrade my kitchen, but a full remodel is too expensive"

Not to worry: Henderstone offers high-quality worktop replacements that give kitchens a premium look without breaking the bank. Let's break down the cost considerations when investing in a new worktop

Similar to any design project, replacing kitchen worktops will involve cost variations based on materials, installation complexity, design choices, and additional modifications required. A full renovation, involving replacing cabinets, appliances, flooring, and modifying plumbing and electrical layouts, can cost anywhere between £10,000 - £50,000+, and often takes up to 8 weeks to complete, leaving you without a functioning kitchen for a substantial amount of time.

In comparison, depending on the surface material you choose, the size of your kitchen, edge details, and required cut-outs, a replacement worktop is more likely to cost between £3,000 - £5,000+, and Henderstone can complete the work in under 24 hours, including removal of your old countertops. When you see the numbers side-by-side, there's no question that replacing your worktops is a more cost-effective choice and one that is still likely to transform your space.

How much value does my worktop add to my home?

Broadly speaking, worktop replacements can increase property value by 5-10%, especially if opting for higher-end materials. A full re-model may add more value but at a much higher cost.

What Are The Best Materials for Replacement Worktops?

We understand that there is such a wide range of options for your worktops that it can sometimes be an overwhelming choice. It's important to consider what it is that your kitchen is functional for, and therefore which stone is most suitable for your lifestyle. For example, if you have a busy family dynamic, a stain-resistant and durable surface is going to be perfect, but if you are after a worktop that is more aesthetically unique, natural stone options may be more appealing. Let's take a deeper dive into the pros and cons of each stone:

Worktop Trends for 2025

Interior trends are evolving all the time, and we are lucky enough to see these originate in designs firsthand. Here are some of the upcoming trends that we think are only going to get bigger as the year goes on:

  • Sleek & Seamless Surfaces: minimalist kitchens have been popular in recent years, and they are still growing, with seamless, ultra-thin worktops offering a refined aesthetic

  • Textured Finishes: matte and honed finishes provide a soft, natural touch, while leathered textures add depth to any space

  • Dramatic Veining & Bold Patterns: marble-effect surfaces with bold veining are high in demand at the moment

  • Dark & Moody Tones: black, charcoal, and deep green stone worktops create a luxurious and contemporary feel

  • Sustainable & Recycled Materials: eco-conscious homeowners are choosing worktops made from recycled materials, including some quartz and porcelain options

What's the Process for Replacing My Kitchen Worktop?

As much as replacing your worktops can be an effective solution, we understand that the process of having the work done can sometimes be just as daunting as an entire kitchen refit. Read more below about what the process of worktop replacement looks like for a standard kitchen.

How long does a worktop replacement take?

Our process of a worktop project includes a professional templating service, which will be carried out 7-10 days before your install date, allowing us to ensure all of our measurements are completely bespoke for your space. Our knowledgeable templating team will be willing to answer any questions you may have about the worktops, such as where your joins will be (if at all), and to talk through any overhangs or up stands you have opted for.

The installation itself will be complete in a matter of hours, dependant of course on size, material, and any adjustments that need to take place on site. Unlike complete kitchen makeovers, replacing your worktops with Henderstone is minimally invasive, and our team will be in and out within the same day. Transforming your space has never been so easy

How to Prepare Your Kitchen for Worktop Installation:

Our administrators will send you a template and installation checklist ahead of your template date, giving you detailed information on how to prepare for your upcoming installation. Here is a brief overview of the most important steps to take to prepare:

  • Ensure all remaining cabinets are secure and in place

  • Cupboard layouts must not change between template and installation

  • Our fitters will require clear access to the installation area

  • Our templating team can template over existing worktops, they do not need to be removed before the template is carried out

  •

How do I measure my kitchen for new worktops?
